2. Action for Carers (Surrey) is led by carers, run by an executive committee of carers and supported by professionals from Health, Social Services and the voluntary sector. Its main aim is to raise awareness of carers’ needs and concerns throughout the county and to work in partnership with statutory services such as health care and social care teams to promote how best they can serve carers within Surrey. Action for Carers (Surrey) also works with national carers organisations such as Carers UK and the Princess Royal Trust for Carers which ensures Carers get better access to services and support throughout the UK.

Their aim is to provide you with access to knowledge sourced from our nationwide network of Carers Centres that will help you provide the best quality of support to the carers that you work with.

6. NHS Carers Direct. Provides a step-by-step guide to the practical help, support and advice that's on offer to carers, and how to get it. There is also information about the Carers Direct helpline their number is 0808 802 0202
7. Surrey PCT. Provides a comprehensive range of community services they work closely with GPs, dentists, opticians and pharmacists to improve the health and wellbeing of local people.
9. Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust. Has a Surrey-wide Carer's Charter has been developed to promote better recognition and support for carers across the county. It outlines the standards that agencies will adopt and is based on national standards developed by the King's Fund for the Department of Health. The standards are intended to describe what a good service to carers should like and to monitor outcomes.The SABP has developed its own local action plan in response to the Surrey Charter to progress their activities and evualate progress made.
10.Surrey Crossroads Scheme. Provides high quality home based respite care for carers in the boroughs of Guildford and Waverley. We do this by providing professionally trained Carer Support Workers who are able to come into carers' homes and take over, allowing carers to have a short break.
11. Alzheimer's Society. Provides information about dementia and carering for people with dementia. They have branches in Guildford, Waverley and Haslemere.
12. Rethink. Is the leading national mental health membership charity, works to help everyone affected by severe mental illness recover a better quality of life. They have a branch in Godalming.
There are 3 local Carers Support Teams in Guildford, Waverley and Surrey Heath who cover the South West of Surrey. These teams are experts in the field of Carers Support and are an invaluable tool once a carers has been registered with their GP. They are all independent voluntary organisations.
